How to record a Google Meet call without a bot
Record a Google Meet call in your browser on Mac or Windows with no bot joining. Transcript.audio runs on your computer and writes notes afterwards.

Transcript.audio records a Google Meet call from your own computer, so no bot is added to the meeting. It notices the browser using your microphone on a meeting page, records the call, and writes a transcript and notes when you leave.
How do I record a Google Meet call?
- Install the app from the download page and work through the setup guide: sign in, allow recording and choose where to save meetings.
- Leave Settings > Recording > When a call starts on Automatic (countdown, recommended), the default. Or choose Ask first, and you are asked Record this call? each time.
- Join your Meet call as normal. Nothing is installed in Meet and nothing is added to the call.
- After 10 seconds of microphone use a countdown shows in the menu bar or tray, then recording starts. Start now begins sooner and Don't record this call skips it.
- When the call ends the recording stops by itself. A Recording saved notification appears, and a minute or two later Notes ready opens the meeting in Recent meetings.
How does it know a browser tab is a call?
With the default setting, Any app using the microphone, a live microphone in a call is enough, in a browser or any other app. With Meeting apps and meeting pages only, browsers count only on a meeting page such as Google Meet. Both options are under Settings > Recording > What starts a recording. See How meetings are detected.
Nothing recorded? See Meeting not detected. The app works with any meeting app: Automatic detection for any meeting app. Get it from the download page.
Can I start or stop it myself?
Yes. Start recording and Stop recording are in the menu bar or tray menu, and Pause is there for a private moment (the paused part is not recorded). See Start, stop, pause and discard.
