Changelog
What's new in the app
Every release of the desktop app, newest first. The app normally updates itself, so these changes arrive without you doing anything. Notes marked For IT are only needed by whoever looks after your computers.
Version 0.3.0
Latest- "What's new" now opens after each update, so you can see what changed
- Updates install automatically by default; you can turn this off in Settings
- Optional anonymous error reports help us fix problems faster. They are off unless you turn them on, and never include meeting content, names or recordings
- The app starts with your computer so recordings are never missed; you can turn this off in Settings
- Better error handling: the app recovers from more problems by itself and tells you clearly when something needs your attention
For IT
- error reports are opt-in per laptop, in Settings. When on, the app uploads at most a few small gzip reports a day (error codes, redacted messages, app and OS version, a random install id) to https://transcript.audio/api/telemetry/upload-url, which hands back a 5-minute upload link to a private AWS S3 bucket in eu-west-2; reports are deleted after 30 days and no IP address is stored. Turning it off deletes the install id. Allow outbound HTTPS to transcript.audio and *.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com if your firewall filters traffic
- to keep error reports off everywhere, leave the setting off (it is off by default) or block https://transcript.audio/api/telemetry/ at the firewall; the app never retries more than a few times a day
- urgent fixes can now ship as hotfix releases (a patch version, for example 0.3.1). They reach laptops through the normal update feed only after they are published, the same as any other update
Version 0.2.2
- Small fixes and reliability improvements
For IT
- in-app updates now really are on. The 0.2.0 and 0.2.1 installers left the update token out, so those versions cannot update themselves: install 0.2.2 by hand once on each laptop, and later versions arrive by themselves
- the Mac app is still ad-hoc signed, so the first launch is blocked by Gatekeeper. On macOS 26 the message can be just "can't be opened" with an OK button; the IT guide (onboarding, Unsigned builds) now covers that box and the Terminal fix
Version 0.2.1
- Small fixes and reliability improvements
For IT
- the first update delivered by the app itself; text files now have the same line endings on Mac and Windows builds
Version 0.2.0
- The app now updates itself: when a new version is ready you can choose "Update now" or "Later" (it then updates the next time the app starts)
- Settings > Saving > Meeting record format: describe your firm's layout and the Word meeting record follows it
- Apps that hold the microphone all day (noise suppression, virtual microphones) no longer start or block recordings
For IT
- new releases are published as GitHub releases by GitHub Actions on a version tag (see docs/it/admin-tasks.md). This version is installed by hand once on each laptop; later versions arrive by themselves
Version 0.1.1
- Automatic picks the best working AI model and region for each job by itself, says why in one line, and switches if a model fails mid-meeting
- Transcripts still work when Amazon Bedrock refuses audio: the app transcribes on this computer instead (a one-time download of about 600 MB)
- Meeting notes use the meeting date, so they no longer guess the year
For IT
- built by hand without the update feed, so this version does not update itself; 0.2.0 is the first to do that
Version 0.1.0
- First pilot build: automatic call recording on Mac and Windows, transcripts and meeting notes through Amazon Bedrock, the Word meeting record and CRM details in practice mode
