Updates
The app checks for updates when it starts and every 4 hours. How to check for an update now, and what to do when an update does not arrive or install.
Last updated
The app checks for updates 30 seconds after it starts and then every 4 hours. When one is ready, a banner in Recent meetings says Version X is ready. and the menu shows Update ready (X). Update now installs it and reopens the app; Later installs it the next time the app starts. During a recording the button says Update after this meeting and waits. Nothing is lost.
Check now
Open Settings > Help > About and click Check for updates. If you chose Later, quit and reopen the app to install.
What if an update does not arrive or install?
On a Mac
- A new version is ready. Download it instead of Update now: the app cannot replace itself where it is installed. Your account must be able to write to the app and its folder. Install it in your own
~/Applicationsfolder, or install the update from the download page. - Running the app from the disk image also stops updates. Drag it to Applications.
- After an update macOS may ask for permissions again. See Permissions denied.
- If an update did not start, the app puts the previous version back and offers the update again later.
On Windows
- Updates install for your account only, with no admin prompt.
- If a firewall blocks the check, allow
api.github.com,objects.githubusercontent.comandrelease-assets.githubusercontent.com. - Still on the old version? Download the latest installer from the download page and run it over the top. Your settings and meetings are kept.
Updates are managed by your administrator. means someone else installs updates for you. Couldn't check for updates. means the app will try again later.
