Notifications

Transcript Audio uses system notifications for recording started, notes ready and the Ask first prompt. How to make sure you see them.

The app tells you what it is doing with notifications: Recording: when a recording starts, Recording saved: when it stops, Notes ready: when notes are written, and Record this call? in Ask first mode. If you never see them, check your system settings.

On a Mac

  1. Open System Settings > Notifications and choose Transcript Audio.
  2. Switch on Allow notifications. Alerts stay on screen until you act, which suits Ask first.
  3. Check a Focus mode is not hiding them (System Settings > Focus).

On Windows

  1. Open Settings > System > Notifications and make sure Notifications is on.
  2. In the list of apps, switch on Transcript Audio.
  3. Check Do not disturb (Windows 11) or Focus assist (Windows 10) is not hiding them.

Missing a notification never stops a recording. The menu bar or tray icon and the recording bar always show what is happening.
