Last updated

While a meeting records, open Questions as you go for a live transcript and answers about what has been said so far. Answers use only the meeting so far and link to the moments they came from. Which plans include it is on the pricing page.

How do I use it during a call?

  1. Start a recording, by joining a call or with Start recording.
  2. Click Questions on the recording bar, or choose Questions as you go... in the menu bar or tray menu.
  3. On the Transcript tab, click Start live transcript if it is not running. Lines are labelled Me and Others.
  4. On the Ask tab, type a question, or pick a quick question: Summarise so far, Action items so far, What did they ask me?, Suggest a follow-up question or Explain that term.
  5. Click a time in an answer to see the moment in the transcript.

On a Mac

Shortcut to open or close the panel: Cmd Shift K.

On Windows

Shortcut to open or close the panel: Ctrl Shift K.

Can I keep it out of the way?

Choose glance mode for a small, faint bar at the top of the screen. Leave glance mode brings the panel back.

Will people see it when I share my screen?

By default the panel is hidden from screen sharing, and the eye button changes that for one meeting. On a Mac, some newer screen-sharing apps can still see it, so share a single window or tab to be sure. Read Staying hidden when you share your screen.

What happens afterwards?

Your questions and answers are saved in the meeting folder as Live Q&A.md. The notes written after the call are made from the whole recording. See Questions as you go: live meeting answers and Using Questions as you go.

Is the live transcript private?

By default it runs on this computer, which is free and private (Live transcript engine in Settings > Privacy). Which plans include Questions as you go is on the pricing page.
