Settings: Privacy
The Privacy tab in Settings: hiding the app from screen sharing and screenshots, names in folder names, and the options for Questions as you go.
Last updated
| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Hide this app from recordings and screen sharing | Keeps the recorder's windows out of meeting videos, screen recordings and screen shares. Screenshots of the app come out blank while it is on. | On |
| Put the other person's name in meeting folder names | Makes meetings easier to find. Leave off if other people can see your meetings folder. | Off |
| Show the Questions as you go panel when I share my screen | Off keeps the panel out of screen sharing and screenshots. See Staying hidden. | Off |
| Live transcript engine | On this computer (free and private) or the same engine as meeting transcription. | On this computer |
| Start the live transcript automatically when it runs on this computer | Starts the live transcript in the panel without a click. | On |
The tab also explains how your data is handled: the app's logs never contain names, transcripts or captured details, and deleting a meeting folder deletes everything about that meeting.
On a Mac
On macOS 15 and later some apps, including newer Zoom and Teams screen sharing, can still show the app's windows. Close or move them, or share a single window, before you share your whole screen.
On Windows
On Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11, hidden windows stay out of screen shares and screenshots.
