Frequently asked questions

Does Transcript.audio upload my recordings?

No. Recordings are saved on your computer in both modes. In standard mode, speech segments are sent, encrypted, for transcription under zero data retention and then discarded.

Can I delete a recording?

Yes. The recording is a file on your computer, so you stay in control of keeping or deleting it.

Do I still need to tell people I am recording?

Yes. Where your recording is kept does not change your duty to tell people. The recording consent guide explains when you need to tell people and when you need permission.
