How it works
In privacy optimised mode an on-device speech model turns the recording into text on your own machine. Nothing is sent anywhere.
In standard mode the app sends only the speech segments, encrypted, to our AI service. An AI provider transcribes them under zero data retention and they are then discarded.
In privacy optimised mode you can switch on an optional cloud fallback, for example if your computer is too slow to transcribe a long meeting in good time. It is off unless you switch it on, and when it is used it works like standard mode.

Does the audio ever leave my computer?
Not in privacy optimised mode: transcription runs on your computer. Audio never leaves it. In standard mode, speech segments are sent, encrypted, and discarded after transcription under zero data retention.
Is on-device transcription as accurate as the cloud?
Slower on older machines, and on-device models are less accurate than the best cloud models.

What do I need to run it?
